h-howdy!

answer: -19/8

step by step

square both sides

9(x-1)=81(x+2)

divide both sides by 9

x-1=9(x+2)

expand

x-1=9x+18

subtract x from both sides

-1=9x+18-x

simplify

-1=8x+18

subtract 18 from both sides

-1-18=8x

simplify

-19=8x

divide both sides by 8

-19/8

h-hope this helped... :)
