answer:  [tex]x = 5[/tex]

work:

[tex]5x+10=7x+4[/tex]  | subtract 5x and move it over to the 7x, and solve

[tex]10 = 2x + 4[/tex]  | subtract 4 and move it over to the 10, and solve

[tex]6 = 2x[/tex]  | divide by 2

[tex]3 = x[/tex]  | final answer
